falling is a skill, not a Failure
Learning How To Fall Safely Is A Practice
Gravity doesn’t wait until you’re ready.
We were just told to be careful, to watch our step, to hold the railing. FallRight Method is not only prevention, but the actual practice of falling down learned from the ground up. It’s a skill that lives in the body and shows up when it’s needed.

Your body has options. It can recover, redirect, or meet the ground safely. Most people never learn those options exist, so when it happens, the body freezes instead of responding.
FallRight workshops prepare that response in advance. So when the moment comes, the body already knows what to do.
“Marisa’s instructions and demonstrations were clear, and her patience, humor, and ability to motivate us made her classes not only incredibly valuable but also fun. Marisa truly is dedicated to helping all of us stay active, strong, and on our feet.”
— Sandy Friedland

Training the Nervous System and Balance Response
Your body already knows how to respond to imbalance. FallRight trains that response — so it’s available in the moment that actually counts.
Through nervous system and vestibular training, you build real coordination and recovery — not just awareness of risk, but actual skill.

Learn how to fall safely and recover with confidence
FallRight workshops prepare your body before a fall ever happens. Through guided instruction and specific drills, you will learn how to regain balance when it’s disrupted and how to meet the ground safely when a fall can’t be avoided, reducing injury and building trust in yourself.
Programs are small-group, thoughtfully paced, and designed to meet you where you are.
Held in a studio space in Oakland, California.

What People Say
“A couple months ago, I was moving quickly down the sidewalk and tripped. I was surprised at how my body just flew into action to slow my momentum and cushion my landing. I now feel more confident being out and about in the world.”
— P. Jennerjohn
Answers to Your Questions
The instant you lose balance, your body has three possible pathways, in this order:
- Recover balance
- Redirect momentum
- Fall in a controlled way
Injury happens when people:
- freeze
- stiffen
- panic
- or try to “save it” too late with brute force.
Skill is knowing which pathway you’re in and responding appropriately.
This builds resilience, not fear.
FallRight is an embodied learning program that teaches specific falling and recovery skills in a supportive, respectful environment.
- How to quickly recover your balance
- How to train and condition in case a fall happens
- How to fall safely and reduce injury severity
- How to recover calmly and confidently
- How to rebuild trust in your body
- Not physical therapy
- Not medical treatment
- Not fear-based fall prevention
- Not a general fitness class
FallRight is for people who want to stay in an active relationship with their body — not manage it from a distance.
People who are done organizing their lives around what might go wrong. People who want competence instead of caution. People who are ready to answer gravity’s questions rather than avoid them
